Coco Martin Dreams Of Working With Nora Aunor

It has long been a dream of Coco Martin to work together with Superstar Nora Aunor. Now, that is finally coming true as they are starring in the indie film "Padre de Pamilya" under the direction of Adolf Alix Jr.

Coco said they have the material for the movie since six years ago, and they have always dreamed of casting Nora for that role.

They set an appointment with her back in 2010 in Los Angeles, but she was sick then so she cannot work. Since then, Coco worked with Adolf in "Batanes" (2007), "Tambolista" (2007) and the gay film "Daybreak" (2008).

In the film, Coco and Nora will play the roles of mother and son who had a deep misunderstanding.

It is very important for the award-winning actor to work with Nora. It's a dream come true for him, he added.

Since Coco came into the mainstream industry, he hasn't really made enough indie films. This is one of the first times she will do an indie film again.

But even though it took him a while, Coco said he cannot forget what it's like to be in the indie industry. In the past, he made "Noy" (2010), "Jay" (2008) and "Sta. Nina" (2012). Because of this, he was awarded the Aktor ng Dekada in the 2011 Gawad Urian ng Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino (MPP).

"Pag indie, talagang hardcore... yung hindi mo ginagawa [sa mainstream TV and movies], nagagawa mo dito. Alam ko yung konsepto ng indie, yung paggawa nito, naiiba."

Coco is under contract of Star Magic, but he is allowed to do indie films. Under Star Cinema, he did "Sa 'Yo Lamang" (2010), "Born To Love You" (2012) and "A Moment In Time" (2013).
