He allowed Bea to go to Canada to be with her mother, who was then having an extra-marital affair, because he believed his children will have a better life there. This was after supporting them for years since his ex-wife did not even provide for their children despite being in Canada.
Bea's mother apparently always gets fired from her jobs because of poor work ethics. It was also Bea's father's family who supported her mother when she was applying for a visa to Canada. Bea's father also paid for the airfare of all his children when they migrated there.
This was contrary to the allegations made by Bea during an interview that she was abandoned by her own father. She said that she already forgave her father for the abandonment and for not supporting her in the beauty pageant.
Her father said in a statement that he never asked forgiveness from Bea because he never had the reason to. Perhaps, the only mistake he did was not being able to work out his relationship with their mother, who was allegedly psychologically unstable.
He also said that he and his family supported Bea when she joined Bb. Pilipinas. The beauty queen even resided in her uncle's (father's brother) house in Quezon City because she needed to stay here for six months. Bea even asked her father to fund a condominium unit near Cubao, and her father obliged.
Whatever Bea needed, her father provided, he said. Things changed when Bea asked for P300,000 for facial enhancements from her father. The latter refused because he was running for councilor back then.
Bea then became cold to him and his family, despite their support for her in terms of plane fares, beauty regime, clothes, etc. When she won Bb. Pilipinas, she and her mother remained cold and indifferent to him.
Her father said he could not fathom how Bea, who lived with her mother and her boyfriend, could believe he was the one who abandoned them. Somehow, Bea's mother was able to allegedly brainwash their kids into thinking that their father had a girlfriend and left all of them for her.
Bea's father said it was their mother who first had an extra-marital affair. His twin brother confirmed this to him, and that is why he finally decided to separate from her despite being in love with her still.
Also, when his ex-wife and their youngest child (his only son) came home when his ex-wife's father passed away, Bea's father even sold his Rolex watch so that they can have a grand vacation. They even stayed with his brother while they were in Manila.
Bea's father and mother even rekindled their romance and reconciled. The mother apparently offered to petition her father so that they will all be in Canada together.
After they left, Bea's father took care of his passport and other documents, but he never heard from Bea's mother again.
He said he has all the evidence that will prove Bea even spent Christmas and New Year with him and his family in Masbate. And yet, the beauty queen is claiming that she did not receive support from them and she was estranged from her father's family.
Bea's father even has proof that he and Bea's mother reconciled during their stay in Manila. He has pictures, he added.
What he wants is for Bea to stop spreading all these malicious lies just so she will gain publicity and a story fit for "Maalaala Mo Kaya." He is ready to drag Bea and her mother to court if they will not issue a public apology and leave their family alone.
Bea's father said he can prove all the things he said in his statement, and he only asked for Bea not to use them for her own sake. His father, Bea's grandfather, is already very old and could not very well take in all that are being said against their family.
Also, Bea's uncles and other relatives are all being affected by the beauty queen's allegations. He clarified that he does not want to ride on to her fame, but simply wants to be left alone.
