MANILA - Actress-host Kris Aquino said she would only allow her youngest son, James "Bimby" Yap Jr., to do another acting project if it is with his "My Little Bossings" co-star, veteran comedian Vic Sotto.
In an interview with reporters on Tuesday after she renewed her contract with the Kapamilya network, Aquino said she promised Sotto and producer Tony Tuviera that they will be part of Bimby's second acting project.
"Siguro I value naman the fact na may isang salita ako at ipinangako ko kay Vic Sotto na kung ano man ang gagawin ni Bimby, utang na loob namin sa kanya, kay Mr. Tuviera at kay Orly Ilacad na they get a first glimpse. Kung ano ang gusto nilang gawin, sinabi ko buo ang tiwala ko sa kanila," she said.
"So kung magkakaprograma man si Bimby, it will be with the same people," she added. "Kung gagawa man siya ng isa pang pelikula, it will be based on sa pag-uusap namin. Pero as of now it's really school [that Bimby will be busy with]."
On Monday via her morning show, "Kris TV," Aquino admitted that she never thought that her son's debut movie would be a huge hit.
"All I said talaga was huwag lang akong mapahiya kay Vic, 'yung kung ano ang kinita nila sa festival nung 2012 sana manhigitan nang konti. So opening day, P30 million, hindi na napahiya," she said.
"Tapos noong nagising ako on the 26th to see the text na it was P50.2 million, grabe! Parang sobrang laking regalo ang binigay nila for Ryzza, Bimb and Vic. It was so unexpected," she added.
Meanwhile, Aquino said Bimby will take voice and dance lessons following the success of "My Little Bossings."
