MANILA – Anne Curtis has started preparing for her role in the upcoming fantasy series “Dyesebel,” where she will play the iconic mermaid created by Mars Ravelos.
In her Instagram account on Wednesday, Curtis shared that she is now training with the Philippine Mermaid Swimming Academy.
“Day 2 of training with my coach Karla Fukui of the Philippine Mermaid Swimming Academy! I'll tell you one thing, it certainly isn't an easy thing to do BUT it's loads of fum!!!” she said.
Curtis also posted photos of her and her coach by the pool with their mermaid tails.
Last week, an emotional Curtis said landing on the role of Dyesebel is a dream come true for her.
"Sobra lang akong speechless kasi ang laking project nito. Sinasabi ko noon dream role ko Dyesebel. So ito na, 2014, great way to start the year, " she said.
In the same press conference, Curtis vowed to prepare for her character, which has been played in the movies and on TV by the likes of Vilma Santos, Alma Moreno, Alice Dixson, Charlene Gonzales and Marian Rivera.
"Gusto ko lang maging magaling na Dyesebel," Curtis said. "Gagawin ko lahat, magaaral ako ng fin swimming para maging ibang level na Dyesebel."
The "It's Showtime" host will have actors Gerald Anderson and Sam Milby as her leading men. Anderson will play Fredo, Dyesbel's human partner in the comics. Milby, on the other hand, will portray a new character named Liro.
ABS-CBN has yet to announce other members of the cast.
