"My Little Bossings" Is The Highest-Grossing Film Of 2013 MMFF

Vic Sotto's and Kris Aquino's "My Little Bossings" was the highest-grossing film in the 39th Metro Manila Film Fest, data showed. Vice Ganda's "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy" fell short of P450,000 for topping the Vic- and Kris-starrer.

The 39th MMFF is the most successful film festival in the past years. It has a total gross earnings of about P1 billion when its two-week run ended from December 25 last year to January 7 this year.

The two films were in a tight race to be this festival's top-grossing film. Vic's movie won by just P450,000 with a total box office gross of P375.0 million.

"Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy," on the other hand, raked in a total of P375.45 million by the festival's end.

In third place was Daniel Padilla's and Kathryn Bernardo's "Pagpag Siyam na Buhay" with a box office gross of P170.5 million while "Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel" was in fourth place with P30.6 million.

The MMDA did not reveal the box office earnings of other entries such as Robin Padilla's "10,000 Hours" (Best Picture), ER Ejercito's and KC Concepcion's "Boy Golden: Shoot to Kill," Rocco Nacino's "Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir" and the musical "Kaleidoscope World."

Vice is also the star of last year's highest grossing film, "Sisterakas," which he made with Kris and Ai-Ai Delas Alas. The earnings of "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy" already surpassed the gross of "Sisterakas."

As of January 13, "Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy" already earned P420 million, making it in competition to be the highest grossing film of all time.

"My Little Bossings" is a rival, but it has not revealed its box office figures yet.
