Despite much prodding by the press during a visit on the set of his new sitcom Home Sweetie Home on January 14, John Lloyd Cruz refused to comment any further on the incident that involved him and It’s Showtime host Anne Curtis.
According to reports, an intoxicated Anne slapped John Lloyd, as well as two other individuals, and berated Kapamilya host Phoemela Baranda during a meltdown at an upscale bar in Taguig. "Ayoko na talaga kasi hahaba ng sobra eh kasi may kanya kaniyang versions ‘yan eh,” the actor said.
He requested that everyone just “Let it rest, hayaan na natin” since according to him, “Hindi na magandang pagusapan pa.” John Lloyd said it’s only proper not to look back on that past issue even saying that, “It’s time to move forward.”
While he’s no stranger to controversies, the 30-year-old had always been tight-lipped about most issues. Is this how he maintains his friendships and relationships in the business? “Sometimes at one point kailangan mong magsalita kasi minsan kaya kang sirain kagaya nung mga nangyari sa akin in the past,” he stated.
However he quickly added, “Hindi sagot sa lahat ng bagay ang pagtahimik. Dapat alam mo kung kelan ka magsasalita at kung kelan ka hindi dapat magsalita.”
Although the scandal hogged headlines for some time, Anne’s career remained on full throttle as she was recently introduced as the lead actress in the TV adaptation of Mars Ravelo’s Dyesebel. John Lloyd’s new sitcom Home Sweetie Home has been receiving good ratings. “Ewan ko basta ako ginagawa ko lang ang trabaho ko. Ginagawa ko lang kung ano ang inaabot sa akin. Magpasalamat ka at magtrabaho ka. Sobrang pasasalamat talaga kasi lalo sa panahon ngayon napakatindi ng competition,” he said.
Catch Home Sweetie Home every Sunday after Goin’ Bulilit.
