For almost three years, Victor Basa and Divine Lee have been living in together. But the couple said they are not planning yet to get married since they want to accomplish their individual goals first.
Victor said he wants to accomplish a lot of things first. "Ayoko na kung kailan nag-settle down ka na tsaka mo sasabihin sa sarili mo na parang, ‘Anong nangyari kaya kung, what if.'"
In the future, Victor doesn't discount the fact that they will eventually end up before the aisle. Everyone who enters into a relationship has marriage as their end goal.
However, they both have a lot of things to fix and focus now.
Divine seconded Victor's statements, saying that they have known each other since they were teenagers. They have been together for three years, and they are not worried about them being together in the future.
"So, parang we don’t see any rush dahil napakahaba ng pundasyon namin."
What's important is that they are supportive of each other, and that they are focused on their respective careers.
When the right time comes, Divine said both of them will surely recognize it. She also answered questions on what she will do if she realizes she got tired of Victor already?
"Parang kung magsawa ako sa kanya, dati pa. I think more than sawa, ang fear na lang namin is taking each other for granted."
Sometimes, because they have been friends for so long, Divine and Victor act more like "barkada" than a couple. They even forget to date or be sweet to each other that Divine asked herself if Victor is her boyfriend or just a friend.
That's why it is important for both of them to have the initiative. They make sure that they spend time together, especially when they planned to.
Since it's her birthday, she also revealed her wishes. One, she wished nothing as bad as Typhoon Yolanda will happen again to the Philippines. Divine said she's still physically and emotionally stressed and traumatized because of what she saw in Leyte.
She was one of the most active celebrities in the relief operations.
Her second wish is for her new show "Showbiz Police" to receive more support from the viewers. They recently won the Gawad Tanglaw for Showbiz-Oriented Talk Show.
Divine said she's proud of her partnership with Raymond Gutierrez, her co-host in "Showbiz Police." It airs every day at 5 p.m. It is hosted also by Cristy Fermin, MJ Marfori and Joey Reyes.
"Maganda nga yung tandem namin ni Mond [Raymond], kasi matapang siya, matapang ako pagdating sa fashion. But then, nagko-compliment kami, kasi magkaibigan na kami at pareho kami ng wavelength."
The model said they are very comfortable with each other that they can say whatever they needed to.
Meanwhile, Victor said he's very happy with his career now, especially since he was a part of 2013's "My Husband Lover."
He's very contented with that project, Victor added, saying that he was even with the cast for their US tour that included Los Angeles, Maryland, New York then back to California.
The actor-model was surprised by the "recall" and "excitement" of the people. This is despite the fact that "My Husband's Lover" has a theme that others may consider controversial.
The teleserye is about a gay relationship. Their audience, Victor said, was "mixed."
This 2014, Victor wants to grow as an actor and to tackle more challenging roles. "Plano ko is to attend some workshops. Importante kasi sa amin ‘yan bilang artista, e."
He understands that he cannot take for granted the opportunities coming his way. Instead of going out always, Victor said he must focus on honing his skills and craft.
